Depuis toujours, nous nous interrogeons sur la capacit\u00e9 des images \u00e0 transformer notre regard. La peinture n\u2019est pas faite pour rester immobile. Elle vit, elle se d\u00e9place, elle rencontre des regards, des gestes, des histoires.<\/p>\n

Je la consid\u00e8re comme un outil d’observation.<\/p>\n

C\u2019est un espace de rechercher particuli\u00e8rement vivant qui me permet d’isoler certaines formes, certains gestes ou certaines situations afin de comprendre ce qu’ils r\u00e9v\u00e8lent de nos mani\u00e8res d’habiter, de construire, de partager et de transmettre.<\/p>\n

La peinture ne montre pas seulement ce qui est visible.
\nElle rend perceptibles des relations, des tensions et des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes qui demeurent souvent \u00e0 l’arri\u00e8re-plan de notre attention.<\/p>\n

Je me suis alors demand\u00e9 naturellement ce qu’\u00eatre peintre signifiait aujourd’hui. La peinture a longtemps \u00e9t\u00e9 associ\u00e9e \u00e0 la repr\u00e9sentation, \u00e0 l’image ou \u00e0 l’objet expos\u00e9.
\nPourtant, ce qui m’int\u00e9resse n’est pas uniquement ce qu’elle montre, mais ce qu’elle produit.<\/p>\n

Je consid\u00e8re la peinture comme une forme active. Une pr\u00e9sence capable d’orienter l’attention, de modifier une perception, de susciter une \u00e9motion, un souvenir ou une conversation.<\/p>\n

Peindre consiste alors moins \u00e0 repr\u00e9senter le r\u00e9el qu’\u00e0 rendre visibles certaines relations qui le traversent.<\/p>\n

Cette recherche m’a progressivement conduite \u00e0 m’int\u00e9resser au devenir des peintures elles-m\u00eames. Hagen Bauer est n\u00e9 de cette interrogation. Le projet constitue aujourd’hui un terrain d’observation \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re. Il me permet d’\u00e9tudier la mani\u00e8re dont les peintures poursuivent leur existence lorsqu’elles circulent et les formes de relation qui apparaissent autour d’elles. L’enjeu n’est pas de d\u00e9placer la peinture vers un autre support. L’enjeu est de comprendre ce qu’elle devient lorsqu’elle entre dans le champ de l’exp\u00e9rience.<\/p>\n

La peinture reste le point de d\u00e9part.
\nMais peut-\u00eatre que l’\u0153uvre ne se limite plus \u00e0 l’image elle-m\u00eame.
